Skellies are more than just $BONES

Hello Skellies — and future Skellies. I hope you are well. Earlier this week, we discussed $BONES, and how we plan for it to function in the Skellie Ecosystem. In that article, I touched lightly on the primary utilities of the Skellies, but today we will dive deeper into the future state of Skellies — and the world that they live in.

Skellie Gaming

Skellie gaming is the first utility that we introduced to the community. It wasn’t necessarily a part of the original Skellie roadmap, but we thought it would be a fun way to keep the community engaged as we work on the more technical aspects of our plan.

Thus far, we think it has been a huge success and will continue to expand it as we grow. Currently, there are prizes in the Skellie Gaming shop that range from 0.01eth to 0.2eth; we have already purchased assets to include in the shop that are currently valued at 1.5eth.

In addition to our current gaming setup, we are exploring ways to expand the selection of games, create more interaction between community members, and are looking to host Skellie Poker tournaments soon.

The Legendary Skellie Treasure Hunts

Those of you who were around during the week leading up to our launch will remember our first treasure hunt. Initially, I was concerned that it would be too easy to solve, and was delighted when I had had to scale back the difficulty towards the end. It took almost 13 hours to complete — but was well worth it for the victors, who are taking home some amazing pieces of physical art.

We will continue to host these treasure hunts, on a quarterly basis, with entry fees in $BONES. They will only be open to holders of Skellies — and potentially SkellieCats. Each new hunt will feature innovate riddles and more complex strategies will be required to find the treasure. But with hard work, comes great rewards — our prizes will continue to grow as the hunts become complex. We are already shopping for the future. (!ooh)

Exclusive Art Drops

We are huge lovers of art — it is one of the primary reasons we are a part of the NFT community. We plan to offer frequent art drops to Skellie holders; some may be free mints, others may require you to burn your $BONES to obtain the piece. We envision our exclusive drops to come from artists of different backgrounds — those already sought after in the NFT community, and those who will soon be sought after. We are already working on the first collection to come exclusively to Skellies with the featured artist from our Treasure Hunt.

We also hope that some of the art will come in the form of derivative, or inspirational collections. We have already had several community members provide us with pieces that were inspired by Skellies. In the future, we will look to feature the best ones, and also include some in the Skellie Gaming shop.

SkellieCats

We have previously discussed SkellieCats as the primary burn mechanism for our utility token, $BONES. But we envision them as more than that — they are our opportunity to open the world of Spectral Skellies to a broader community. There will be 6,666 SkellieCats — enough for each Skellie to re-animate two. This could potentially triple the number of people who participate in our ecosystem.

While SkellieCats will not generate $BONES, they will have their own special function inside of our ecosystem. We are not quite ready to announce what this utility will look like, but I can assure you — we will give you every reason not to let go of your SkellieCats.

Skellie Merchandise

Merch isn’t for everyone — but we are busy designing some bad ass merchandise that will be exclusively claimed with $BONES.

SkellieVX

We will enter the Metaverse with Skellies. In our last article, we presented the earliest prototype of SkellieVX. There is a lot of work to be done on the prototype before we are ready to launch them, but we are excited about the prospect of taking them into the Sandbox and having Skellie events. Maybe we will host a Skellie Treasure hunt metaverse style? Our intent with this collection is to allow all Skellie holders to claim a VX for each Skellie they hold, as well as expand the collection to allow for SkellieCat holders and the public to mint as desired.

Back from the Dead — Skellies Phase 2

The premise of our collections rest in the lore. One night, a lonely necromancer needed a friend. He went out to the graveyard and cast his spells. This allowed for our Skellies to come back to live — be re-animated.

We love our phase 1 roadmap, and the utilities planned for the Skellies. But we have a bigger mission — one that we haven’t told you about.

The Skellies have become the necromancers.

We love the NFT community, and we see great projects struggle to gain momentum all the time. We are taking on the challenge of helping these projects get to the success they deserve— resurrected, re-animated — a Re-Launch pad.

Once we build all of the utility we have promised for the skellies, and ensure the long term success of our community, we are making it our mission to find projects with like minded communities, but are struggling to see success. We will evaluate their issues, assess the resources needed to ensure their success, and work with them to re-launch their project.

This will ultimately allow us to form a strong connection between our communities — a bond that will allow us to collaborate, and find mutually beneficial ways to provide value to each other. This is what makes NFTs special — this is a mission beyond dollars and cents.

The Skellie Identity

This brings us to our conclusion — but is the most important topic we have to discuss. Skellies aren’t meant to just be another project that pumps, dumps, and then is never heard from again.

We are ALL committed to making this project a fixture of the community. We know that many of our Skellie holders are too. We know the drive for success is there— we must take it. We need every Skellie holder to buy into the road we have ahead of us, and be committed to working together to build our community. We can only succeed together, we need your help. Skellies together shall prosper — anything less and we will fail.
